“The 16^th Oct 2012 marks the 1 year anniversary of Bailey, ex Gary, coming into our lives.  We were devastated at the loss of our previous Shar Pei only a month prior, our house was so quite, so unbearable.  I had been told of Shar Pei Rescue and would look at the website regularly, then joined the Facebook page.

We wanted to get another Pei and our only criteria was that it not be the same colour as Chai - Fawn.  On the 16^th a message was posted on the Facebook page, they were looking for someone to foster a male in NSW, I asked Tony, my husband, his concern was how upset I would be when he found his forever home, I said, it will be fine as he hasn’t died, he’s found his home.  So we put out hands up and no more than half an hour later Gary arrived – he was just 5 mins up the street.  What colour?– fawn – oh my.

Gary, now Bailey was so different to our other Pei’s he was so quiet and scared and took about 2 weeks before he would let Tony near him – no wonder, since he was abused by his the previously owners.

It didn’t take long for Bailey & I to become the best of friends and it was inevitable that he became yet another foster failure, this type of failure is one we’re proud of.

Through Bailey we’ve learn so much of what SPR Inc is all about and only wish we could do more to help as we truly love Shar Pei.  I can’t get enough of SPR Inc and I’m constantly looking at Facebook for any updates, it’s pretty much all I do on Facebook, I love the stories and the friendships, the advice you can get on anything Pei related but the best thing though is reading about the adoptions.

Thank you Shar Pei Rescue for taking Gary in, thank you Jo for collecting him and caring for him before us and thank you from the bottom of our hearts for allowing us to adopt him.
